Welcome to EinkNote. By installing, accessing, or using the EinkNote mobile application (“the App”, “the Service”), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service (“Terms”). If you do not agree with these Terms, please do not use the Application.

1. Description of Service

EinkNote is a lightweight text-writing application designed specifically for E-ink devices (optimized for Android 9 through Android 11, including Onyx POKE2 to POKE6 models).

The App is built to eliminate distractions and minimize screen flicker:

  • “Just Write” Interface: A clean, distraction-free writing environment resembling black ink on white paper.
  • Save Button: Saves your note locally to the on-device local database.
  • TXT Button: Exports your note as a standard plain text (.txt) file to your local device storage.
  • Google Button: Connects via Google OAuth to export and convert your notes directly into a Google Docs file inside your personal Google Drive.

2. No Account & Local Data Ownership

  • No Sign-up / No Login: EinkNote does not require user registration, account creation, or external profile logins.
  • User Ownership: All content, notes, and plain text files created within the App belong entirely to you. Your text is stored locally on your device or in your personal Google Drive account.
  • No Remote Storage: We do not operate proprietary backend servers to collect, retain, or store your text data.

3. Google API Integration & Permissions

  • When you use the Google Button to export notes, you authorize the App to interact with your Google account via official Google APIs.
  • Access is strictly limited to exporting notes to Google Docs and Google Drive.
  • You may disconnect the App’s access to your Google account at any time through your Google Security Settings.
  • The App adheres strictly to the Google API Services User Data Policy.

4. User Responsibilities & Device Compatibility

  • The Service is primarily tested and optimized for Android 9 through Android 11 on E-ink reader hardware (such as Onyx Boox POKE series). Performance and screen refresh behavior on other versions or devices may vary.
  • You are solely responsible for backing up your local files and exported notes.

5. Disclaimer of Warranties & Limitation of Liability

  • The Application is provided on an “AS IS” and “AS AVAILABLE” basis without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied.
  • We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, bug-free, or entirely error-free.
  • Under no circumstances shall the developer be held liable for any data loss, file corruption, device malfunction, or incidental damages resulting from the use or inability to use the Application.

6. Modifications to Terms

We reserve the right to revise or replace these Terms at any time. Any changes will be effective immediately upon posting the updated Terms on this website.
